July 28, 2026, marked the 103rd anniversary of Chou Wen-chung’s birth. As part of the Spiralis Music Trust’s mission to carry forward Professor Chou’s legacy, we invited writer and music critic Daniel Stephen Johnson to contribute a series of social media posts over the remainder of 2026, exploring Chou’s influence on music and culture. These cover a range of topics from Chou’s musical techniques, to Confucian philosophies of art, to the difficulties of preparing the works of Edgard Varèse for publication.

To receive regular updates about Chou Wen-chung, the Spiralis Music Trust and Professor Chou’s continuing legacy, please follow Chou Wen-chung on Facebook and Instagram.
